Marion Elementary School is seeking a caring, student-centered School Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a healthy learning environment that supports student success.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up of illnesses and injuries.
  • Administer medications and medical treatments in accordance with physician orders, district policies, and New York State regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs), emergency care plans, and other health-related documentation.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with families, healthcare providers, school personnel, and community agencies regarding student health needs.
  • Monitor student immunization records and ensure compliance with New York State requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date health records.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and implement appropriate emergency procedures.
  • Promote health education and wellness initiatives for students and staff.
  • Participate as a member of multidisciplinary teams, including MTSS, Section 504, and CSE meetings, as appropriate.
  • Support school attendance efforts by identifying and addressing health-related barriers to learning.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming health office environment.
  • Perform other duties related to student health and wellness as assigned by the administration.
Per Contract
Substitute School Nurse (RN)

The successful candidate will be child-centered and responsible for providing health care to students throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct health services to students

  • Administering medications per physician's orders

  • Assessing illnesses and injuries and providing appropriate care

  • Responding to medical emergencies within the building

  • Supporting the health and safety of students, staff, and visitors
